The Manning Shoe Store has been operating since 1953 and has grown slowly but surely as our family has grown. We have had a policy of continually developing new avenues for our business to expand.
Our History
In 1953 we opened our Taree store against some very strong local operators but to our Grandfather's credit he had assessed the market to be poorly catered for and so the business prospered. The business continued to grow and in 1971 we opened a store in Forster.As the Forster store was fine tuned to suit the local demands we were able to improve our buying power. In 1973 we bought another shoe store in Taree. In 1986 we opened another store in Forster to service the new shopping centre known as Stockland Forster. We opened a Port Macquarie store in 1998 in the Port Central Shopping centre.
We computerised all stores in 1986 to improve stock control and better assess the performance of each brand. As a result of this computerisation, management has been able to assess the development and growth of each brand in our business.

In our time running retail business, we have seen many changes:- Local industries moving off shore

In late 2010 we introduced our online shop: http://www.manningshoes.com. Through this website we aim to reach holiday makers visiting our area and our customers who find it hard to get into town. The store permits you to purchase shoes and pay directly with your credit card with the product being delivered directly to your home.We are continually aiming to improve on our customer service and appreciate feedback on our website and stores.
